Our Market Data Team in Madrid is building a Market Data System from scratch as a greenfield project in the Azure Cloud and is looking for a Python expert Data Engineer with desirable experience in market data.

In this role, you will help in designing the ETL in Python in the best way through a seamless delivery of the relevant Market Data needs. You will have the chance to collaborate with different stakeholders from engineering, business analysis, data governance, and other areas.

**What you will do**:

- Help in the development, and maintenance of a custom ETL platform tailored to the organization's specific needs and requirements; leverage cloud-based services such as Azure DevOps, third-party tools, Azure Container Registry, blob storage, and Azure Key Vault to build scalable and efficient data pipelines
- Help in the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines for the ETL platform using Azure DevOps
- Design and implement efficient mechanisms for ingesting data from diverse external sources into the ETL platform, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency during the ingestion process
- Help with the integration of comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions for the ETL platform, including logging, metrics, and alerting mechanisms
- Investigate and resolve complex issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline failures, and implement proactive measures to minimize data-related incidents
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and share knowledge and best practices

**What you bring & who you are**:

- Strong programming skills in Python, including data manipulation, transformation, and scripting
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, ETL design patterns, and data integration concepts
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable ETL pipelines
- Knowledge of Cloud services and tools relevant to data engineering (e.g. Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Azure API principles)
- Experience in designing and implementing data ingestion mechanisms from various external sources
- Familiarity with using version control systems such as Git
- Understanding of branching, merging, and code review processes
- Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell
- Problem-solving attitude with exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking, and a sharp eye for details
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and operations personnel
- Strong prioritization and organization skills, as well as ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Know-how in commodity market is a big plus
- Fluency in English and Spanish, German is a plus
