**About our Early Learning Services**

Georges River Council owns and operates six early learning services located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Oatley West, South Hurstville, Kogarah and Penshurst. Council’s early learning services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow. We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their profession. We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans. Our services strive for excellence with some of our Centres receiving an overall exceeding rating by ACECQA. Our staff appreciate that we are a culturally diverse, united, supportive and social team that value and aim to create a positive, inclusive, motivated and collaborative workplace culture.

**Selection Criteria**

Qualifications, Certificates & Licences
- ACECQA approved or recognised teaching qualification (i.e. either a Bachelor of Teaching or Education or equivalent).
- Current Working with Children Check
- NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate.
- NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Early Childhood Education and Care Qualification.
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry.
- Food Handling and Preparation Training or Certification.Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW Proficient Teacher Accreditation.

Essential
- Demonstrated experience working with groups of children aged 0-5 years in a Childcare Centre setting (or similar)
- Sound oral and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to develop, document and implement an educational program for children.
- Knowledge and understanding of all current legislation governing early childhood education and care, including the National Quality Framework.
- The ability to lead, support, motivate and mentor staff.
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
