**About the Role**:
RWE Renewables is looking to recruit an Offshore Consent & Environmental Manager into the Spanish Offshore Wind Development Team. The post is full-time and permanent. The role is based in Madrid, however, travel across Iberia region and within some of the Central Europe countries will be required.

As core part of the Development team, the Offshore Consent & Environmental Manager will be helping to support our projects through the development, construction and operation stages. You will also be expected to take a dynamic and proactive role in supporting the Development Team in strategic environmental matters and consenting consultations. Being part of the regional development team, the role will also work closely with the projects leads, projects development managers, bid managers, package managers, environmental & consents managers an others within the group in addressing specific environmental matters relevant to RWE’s offshore wind projects. You will have the unique opportunity to delivery all environmental & consent aspects of offshore wind farms during development, construction and operation phases. You will take full responsibility for the delivery of environmental and consent aspects to meet offshore wind auction criteria, overseeing of the delivery of required authorisations and permits, and coordination of environmental compliance post authorisation for the lifetime of the project. You will be responsible for securing additional or amended authorisations and permits as necessary for construction or survey work. Collate and maintain the necessary supporting environmental and consent information and liaise with statutory authorities, package managers and contractors. Liaise and negotiate with environmental stakeholders to maintain and secure necessary commercial agreements for the development & construction phases; developing strong working relationships with environmental associations as well as with fishermen whilst seeking to reduce Project costs. Represent specific project’s and RWE Renewables Spain within relevant developer conferences, industry groups and forums in order to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the current environmental best practice, consenting framework and strategic opportunities. Input into strategic consultations produced by external statutory consultees, or research and monitoring projects, where relevant to your specific project.

**Your Future Plans**:

- You will be responsible for the development, implementation and day-to-day management of the offshore environment & consents compliance plan and program, including delivery of key consents milestones, environmental studies and definition of specific mitigation measures according to the project characteristics
- Responsible for the compliance of the offshore projects in regards of the specific auctions rules and any consent authorizations to be obtained thereafter
- Develop strong working relationships across the Project to ensure consent requirements are integrated into all relevant contracts and project design and there is continual consent compliance
- Responsible for the implementation of best practices in respect of the maritime environment in order to advice the projects team on the environmental program that shall be implemented to comply with the specific environmental stakes of the projects
- Responsible for offshore consents programme reporting, risk management and budget management.
- Procurement and on-going management of offshore environmental consultants and technical specialists required to deliver consents compliance on time and budget
- Development and implementation of detailed environmental survey strategies necessary to deliver offshore consent requirements, and ensure that any offshore survey work procured by the offshore consents team is conducted in a safe and efficient manner
- Identify of opportunities to reduce the costs of consent compliance through negotiation of onerous consent conditions to remove barriers to consent discharge
- Engage with key project stakeholders and statutory bodies in order to develop cooperative relationships and deliver consent requirements.
- Interface management within the Project to ensure communication between the relevant work package managers, contractors, consenting consultants and key stakeholders

**Your Profile**:

- You have a degree or equivalent training/competence
- You demonstrable competence in environment, EIA, consenting, licensing or related fields, compliance with specific experience working on offshore projects (offshore wind or similar offshore industry)
- You have Offshore environmental survey work experience
- You have excellent project management skills and experience of managing large projects to tight deadlines
- You have good communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to communicate complex technical issues to stakeh
