BayWa r.e. Projects España S.L.U. - a wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa r.e. AG - is responsible for the development, structuring and execution of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects in Spain & Portugal. **Grid Engineer (M/F/d) - Spain**
**What You Will Do**:
- Manage the successful delivery of the grid connection high voltage package for Onshore Wind, Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage projects through their lifecycle (origination, development, tender, execution and commissioning);
- Liaise with project development team to lead and coordinate grid interconnection requirements and for estimation of project CAPEX, OPEX and time scheduling;
- Identify grid connection points in the transmission and distribution network. Fully knowleadgeble of the current transmission development plan from Red Electrica and identify regional opportunities for potential capacity release;
- Develop and build relationships with external clients, partners, DNO’s, TSO’s, grid consultancies and contractors;
- Carry out a cost/benefit analysis and check the compliance with Engineering Technical Specifications and with DNO’s, TSO’s, local or international standards;
- Technical due diligence for pipeline acquisition and support to project management;
- Preliminary design/concept of substation and definition of the substation main items;
- Manage the delivery of works being undertaken by electrical and high voltage grid connection contractors and consultants;
- Definition and optimization of power transformers according to plant design / grid codes / DNO or TSO requirements;
- Main technical interface for all substation/evacuation line related topic (EPC, PPC, SCADA, control center, external certification companies) and its coordination.
- Responsible for plant certification and follow up the inverter and PPC certification processes according to the location;
- Support the Project Team during the whole commissioning process with REE in order to obtain the _FON_;
- Support the Project Team during the whole commissioning process with relevant entity in order to obtain the _RAIPEE definitivo_;
- Preparation of commissioning documentation (Commissioning protocol and Energization procedure);
- Identify and mitigating project risks, advise the business on an ongoing basis about existing and anticipated grid - related liabilities and costs;
- Engage with other IPP/developers to agree the optimal and most preferred solution when sharing grid infrastructure;
**What You Bring**:
- You have an educational and professional background in engineering, especially electrical engineering
- You have experience in conceptual design of substations. You have previous experience (1-3 years) in high voltage infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines and underground cables, for voltage levels 45 kV, 66 kV, 132 kV and 220 kV
- You bring comprehensive knowledge of the Spanish DNO/TSO network as well as local Spanish, EN and IEC standards
- You have a structured way of working, are well organized and have good time management skills
- You are fluent in business English and Spanish;
- You are a Team Player, and enjoy working in an international and digital environment
- You are willing to travel
- You are proficient with MS Office, additional experience in PowerFactory and AutoCAD is a plus
