Description

As a Communications & Marketing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in both the Communications and Marketing departments, providing support across various areas within each division. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum, allowing you to not only assist in different departmental facets but also to cultivate your skills and knowledge in diverse areas.

In the **Communications** domain, your primary focus will involve participation in various projects, including:
**Social Media**:

- Generate and post content across The Ocean Race's diverse platforms, tailoring it to the internal needs of the organisation.
- Analyse data and formulate strategies to enhance our impact and expand our fan communities.
- Make reports on the impact of various campaigns and strategies

**Web and App**:

- Oversee the relationship with our current web supplier, managing day-to-day updates and internal requirements.
- Assist in a potential tender process and project planning for a new web and app project in preparation for our upcoming races.
- Use google analytics to assess the effectiveness of different content and campaigns on the website

**Media Asset Management**:

- Supervise both image and video library software, fulfilling internal and external (media and other stakeholders) content requests.
- Participate in discussions regarding future strategies in this domain.

**Content and PR**:

- Offer support in these areas when required, including the posting of content on the website and social media in different formats and languages.

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Communications department in various tasks as determined from time to time.
- Contribute to the formulation of the Communications department's strategy, emphasising the engagement and growth of our core fans, internal support for key stakeholders (teams, partners, and cities), and the promotion of The Ocean Race as a leader in sports for ocean health.
- Actively engage in project planning for different Communications department areas in anticipation of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 and The Ocean Race 2027.

In the **Marketing** sphere, your role will centre around diverse projects, including:
**Data**:

- Manage various software tools facilitating interaction with external stakeholders, such as Mailchimp and Yumpu.
- Utilise tools like Meltwater, Google Analytics, and other internal reports to analyse our audience, providing valuable information and guidance to departments like Partnerships, Marketing, or Management for informed strategy development.

**Strategy**:

- Assist in the creation of the Marketing strategy for The Ocean Race Europe, The Ocean Race, and interim periods between races.

**Digital Campaigns**
- Support the development of our digital campaign strategy and execute it as needed.

**Other Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance to the Marketing department in various tasks.

This role will be located in Alicante, and we are looking for prompt integration on a full-time basis.

Minimum requirements
- Fluent English (written and spoken). Other languages are a plus especially Spanish and French.
- Degree in marketing management, advertising, communications, or similar.
- Previous experience in similar roles.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Mailchimp and website content management systems will be a plus.
- Forward thinking, proactive, dynamic attitude.
- Interest in sailing and sustainability will be a plus.
- Comply with the values of The Ocean Race: Trust, Excellence & Care.
- Living or able to relocate to Alicante, Spain.
- EU national or ability to, in a short period of time, acquire necessary EU working permits.
