**Molecular Oncology Group at VHIO**

Responsible for patient recruitment and follow-up, sample collection and processing, data collection and entry in study
database.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**

Auxiliary nursing technician (TCAE) studies or higher studies in health science
- Fluency in Catalan and Spanish

**Desired: -**

Medium knowledge of English.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

Knowledge and experience in patient’s sample collection, handling and processing, including but not limited to

stool, saliva, blood, and tissue specimens.
- Knowledge and experience in dietary and lifestyle data collection from patients using questionnaires.
- Previous experience in microbiome research projects.
- Experience in dealing with patients.
- Advanced user of office tools (Office environment domain).
- Knowledge of hospital SAP.
- Knowledge of REDCAP.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Previous experience in oncology will be an asset.
- Postgraduate training in the field of methodology or research (not essential, only evaluable).

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Implementation of the project within the hospital environment.
- Explanation of the project to the patient, completion of documentation, preparation and delivery of sample

collection kits, signing of informed consent.
- Carrying out epidemiological questionnaires to patients, answering any doubts that may arise.
- Collection, processing and recording of biological samples from patients under study (mostly saliva and stool).
- Management of medical appointments according to protocol. Follow up of recruited patients.
- Quality control of samples and questionnaires returned by the patient.
- Review of the correct annotation in the clinical history.
- Completion of the registration of the collected data in databases
- Data analysis and presentation to the team in internal project meetings.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate/month, year.
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. (Salary ranges are consistent with our
Collective Agreement pay scale)
