**What do we do?**
FOSSA has verticalized the manufacturing process of satellites, space operations and ground segment services, with an operations and production centre in Madrid together with a global network of satellites in orbit and satellite control stations.
FOSSA is combining technological miniaturization with mass production techniques to launch a network of 80 of these satellites in orbit. FOSSA launches a higher number of distributed satellite constellations at a fraction of the cost of a traditional single satellite. Lower satellite costs and shorter development times allow the use of more cutting-edge technology which is competitive with existing solutions.
**Who are we looking for?**
We are currently looking for a Telecommunications Engineer, preferably with a PhD, to join our telecommunications department. This person will be in charge of managing and coordinating the work of the department, reporting directly to the Engineering Director. He/she will be in contact with the rest of the Engineering departments to help coordinate the work of all of them. You will have technical and management responsibilities, for which you will need to have great hard and soft skills.

**Responsibilities**:
- Telecommunications Engineering department management (Space, User and Ground Segment)
- Representation of the telecommunications department to management and other departments
- Department planning creation and update.
- Department technical output review.
- Document coordination and first review.
- Commercial providers trade-off and supply chain management.
- Systems testing campaign definition.
- Team management and coordination. Priority handling.
**Profile requirements**:
- Graduate in Telecommunications Engineering
- Background knowledge on antenna design and RF electronics design and implementation.
- Background knowledge on requirement derivation.
- Minimum experience of 2 years in the telecommunications sector.
- Proactivity and problem solving.
- Full professional competence in English.
**Nice to have**:
- Doctorate preferably MsC or PhD level
- Knowledge of modulations and communication protocols for IoT devices (spread spectrum, NB-IoT...) and LPWAN technologies.
- Having developed technically related personal projects.
- Space sector experience
- Programming experience.
- Experience in SMD soldering.
