**Job Title: Material Handler II**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Organize the staff and workload to meet or exceed distribution productivity performance standards for designated area (Receiving, Put Away, Packing, Shipping, or Inventory Control).
- Train, evaluate, and recommend and delivers disciplinary action when necessary, from issues as attendance, performance, safety, or policy violation.
- Conduct yearly performance reviews and feedback sessions with employees as needed to discuss metrics and performance related issues, prior to issues becoming increasingly serious.
- Supervise staff in a manner that is consistent with our organizational culture, which is based on four values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement and on open communication.
- Recommend and develops ideas for improvement in operating methods and procedures, and to resolve problems when these arise.
- Make recommendations to improve warehouse layout, workflow, operating costs and customer service, for consideration and approval of the Director of Logistics Operations and other concerned management personnel.
- Maintain safety standards and training in the department; ensures that the building is maintained in a clean and safe manner and that inventories and equipment are properly protected against theft, fire and other hazards that may cause loss or damage.
- Follow-up on hazardous materials packaging, storage and shipping to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Deliver reliability and on-time performance. Assist customer with logistics support as required.
- Look continuously for areas of improvement that increase efficiency and overall company profitability for areas of improvement that increase efficiency and overall company profitability.
- Ensure that all customer orders are processed according to corporate standards and meet customer service
- Work with team to improve and maintain strong customer satisfaction levels (CAS).
- Be responsible for proactively assessing the work environment and taking necessary actions to meet all Key Performance Indicators.
- Promote a friendly environment, good morale and cooperation among team members.
- Develop daily work schedules as workload situation demands.
- Ensure that committed orders ship on time and that carriers comply with scheduled pick-up commitments.
- Drive operational excellence and consistency within each distribution center.
- Provide leadership and assistance to operation of the department to meet all daily objectives (Cost, Quality, Service, Safety).
**Non-negotiable** aptitudes, skills and knowledge**:
- Must be able to handle conflict well and give positive and negative feedback along with managing performance issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with varying levels, internal and external to the company.
- Must possess problem solving skills to be able to manage the area of responsibility and use personnel efficiently to meet company standards.
- Ability to interact in a team environment with a customer-focused approach and interest in continuous improvement serving internal and external customers.
- Must be self-motivated, stress and pressure resistant, as well as a quick learner.
- Must be computer literate be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Must have exposure to a WMS (Warehouse Management System).
