ERM is looking for an Environmental & Social Managing Consultant willing to join ERM Iberia in one of the offices located in Madrid, Barcelona or Lisbon.
The key roles and responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage Environmental & Social Impact Assessment studies/projects;
- Manage relationship with authorities, Clients and Contractors;
- Deep understanding of environmental and social risks related to asset development and infrastructure for a variety of industries.
- Identify and develop new project opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals and cost estimates, and build and maintain client relationships
- Ability and flexibility to work across a range of services and sectors including: power (including renewables) civil infrastructure, mining, oil & gas and in onshore and offshore environment;
- Experience in Environmental and Social Permitting in Spain (EIA, AAI, Red Natura, relationship with authorities) and in International projects (deep understanding of IFC/WB PS, Equator Principles IV).
- Define, coordinate and implement Environmental and Social Management Systems / Monitoring Plans;
- Experience in Environmental and Social Due Diligence for Financial Institutions.
What you will need to succeed
- A master degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences or similar (social related degrees with relevant experience will be also considered).
- 5-8 years of experiences in Environmental / Sustainability / Social Consultancy
- 3-5 years of experience as Project Manager
- Proficiency in English and Spanish or Portuguese, written and spoken. Working knowledge of French will be considered a plus.
- Proven experience in Spanish or Portuguese environmental and social permitting.
- Knowledge of applicability ofhInternational Standards (IFC/WB, EBRD, etc.) and sustainable project finance.
- Proven experience in liaise with Authority/Decision Makers and Stakeholders.
