Acerca del puesto de trabajo
An opportunity exists for an experienced Operations (Plant) Manager to join us at our plant in San Ciprián, Spain. The primary purpose of the function is to provide strategic leadership and operational management. The successful applicant will be responsible for defining the mid-/long-term strategy for the location.
- Develop long-term plans and goals for the operational strategy for the San Ciprián plant and ensure it supports Alcoa's strategic and operational priorities.
- Establish and coordinate Operational activities and resources to achieve optimum production levels while ensuring and improving product quality, meeting customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Lead the identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities while appropriately managing the accompanying risks.
- Provide leadership to ensure that environment, health, and safety are the priority of the business. Be a Health and Safety leader, using tools such as Human Performance and critical controls (to fail safely). Lead adherence to EHS core operating standards to protect our license to operate and promote the environmental values of the plant.
- Sponsor and help lead the talent development of the location, ensuring opportunities are provided and intentional actions instituted to grow current and future leaders to build strong succession plans and contribute to the broader organizational talent pipeline.
- Effectively utilize the total workforce and continuously evaluate the operational structure and flow and its response to challenges.
- Identify, assess, and deploy new manufacturing solutions (technology, equipment development, etc) to drive production efficiencies. Own the capital spending decisions and process at the plant for both return-seeking and sustaining capital.
- Drive the development of ABS (Alcoa Business System, lean) at the location. Review production processes, provide technical direction, and implement ABS procedures in conjunction with the Continuous Improvement Center of Excellence in support of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all the processes within the plant are carried out in line with legal requirements and Alcoa corporate standards.
- Establish and develop connections with regional and local government representatives and with the local communities and support the Spain Country President in matters involving the government.
- Provide support in the development of a learning organization and the building of an effective relationship and engaged plant bargaining unit and salaried workforce.
- Manage, direct, coach, lead, train and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives in a timely and safe manner, while continuously striving to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure optimum utilization of assets employing reliability excellence and equipment reliability techniques, as well as the support of the Asset Management Center of Excellence.
**Qualifications**:
- University degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields
- Experience in plant operational management is required with demonstrated results in leading manufacturing excellence
- Knowledge of EHS principles and legislation
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Sound business and data acumen
- Knowledge and understanding of financial concepts
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven track record of success in similar role(s)
- Spanish fluency and English proficiency
