In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

- Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making:

- Embedded electronics for military aircraft
- Tactical Communications
- Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic

The engineer will be in charge of supporting the client's maintenance staff at their facilities, providing direct support and being in continuous contact with their staff. Working part-time, and continuous working hours in the summer, without the possibility of teleworking.

**What will you do?**

You will participate in a dedicated team working in customer premises, mainly focused in:

- Manteinance of the aeronautical digital communications system
- Analysis of possible incidents and system failures
- Participation in the customer´s team and reporting of the system status to the final responsible
- Coordination at international level and reporting to the system manufacturer
- Updating and testing of system versions

**To do this, you should have experience in **
- Extensive knowledge of UNIX systems, mainly Red Hat and CentOS
- Extensive knowledge of virtualization systems based on VMWare
- Knowledge of communications networks
- Analytical capacity for incident resolution
- Knowledge of handling hardware components of the systems
- Languages: intermediate oral and written English

**Any of the following will be valued**:

- Hands-on experience configuring and using Acronis products for data backup and recovery, including most notably Acronis Cyber Backup and Acronis True Image.
- Knowledge of DataLink Mode 2 (VDLm2) communication systems
- Knowledge of ATM (Air Traffic Management) systems
- Knowledge of task automation through script programming
