Picis Clinical Solutions, a Harris Computer company, is looking for a Database Engineer on a permanent basis to join our dynamic team of smart, positive, and passionate people in Barcelona who are appreciated for their unique talents and empowered to do their jobs well.

In performing the Database Engineer position, as part of the Research and Development team, you will have the opportunity to:

- Work closely with development teams with regards to database updates and design
- Optimize queries
- Test database to ensure everything operates efficiently without error
- Analyse and recommend database Improvements
- Analyse impact of database changes to the business
- Analyse requirements and understanding of company’s data needs
- Troubleshoot database errors
- Extract live data, datamining
- Oversee development of new databases
- Install database software and maintain database
- Guarantee database setup meets industry requirements
- Review existing solutions
- Set security permissions for database
- Backup and restore data

- Thorough knowledge of SQL and an understanding of SQL Server
- Bachelors’ degree preferred or combination of education and experience in an industry related field
- Related database engineering experience
- High level of proficiency in technical programming language
- Ability to analyse and summarize highly technical information
- Understands how to develop within an Agile Development environment
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to delivery excellent customer service to all stakeholders
- Results driven professional with the ability to work well and deliver under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Customer oriented; delivers on-time, superior solutions that exceed customer expectations
- Adaptable and responsive to innovation and change with a demonstrable desire for continuous learning of current and leading edge technologies
