**Responsibilities**

As a Business Analyst you will play a highly visible and key role in evaluating the core aspects of our business. You will measure, analyze, and inform the business on how we can improve the processes. You will be responsible for every step in the analytic process. You will create efficiency through standardization and automation.

**You Will**
- Work closely with leaders and domain experts across the organization to figure out the scope and breadth of the business question at hand
- Decide what data is needed
- Gather and structure that data
- Perform the appropriate analysis
- Create and present the subsequent recommendations and findings
- Work with the business to complete the essential changes
- Help design the reporting needed to track the results, looking for ways to automate for improved efficiency.
- Improve operational effectiveness and efficiency through detailed analysis based on internal data

The Business Analyst role collaborates with other organizations across Cisco and uses analytics skills to solve business problems and to deliver insights that enable operational decision making.

This role receives general direction and guidance from management but is expected to exercise good judgement within defined procedures and practices in selecting analysis methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to settle appropriate action.

**What You'll Do**

The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

- Develop and produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics reports for senior management to answer key business questions
- Work closely with business partners to identifying and analyze areas for improvement within the company.
- Work to improve knowledge of the Cisco Services offers, business processes and demonstrate a meticulous yet broad understanding of corporate objectives (i.e. “able to see the forest from the trees”)
- Establish credibility at all levels within the organization and build problem-solving partnerships with colleagues world-wide.
- Translate business problems and questions into analysis requirements and gathers data from various sources to complete the analysis
- Work on analytic problems where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors to understand drivers and opportunities
- Perform ad-hoc analytical support when required
- Create reports and data visualizations to support analyses that explain business trends and key drivers (i.e. the “what” and “why”)
- Build cases for action and help obtain agreement from sponsors and domain experts
- Communicate effectively in formal presentation settings including creation of proposals, presentations, and work.
- Efficiently and accurately prepare data for analysis while maintaining quality control of final work

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Understanding of basic accounting and P&L management principles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or other analytical field
- Self-motivated and directed while a positive, good teammate and problem-solver
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- A desire to experiment, grow and learn new ways to explore and handle data
- Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Thoughtful, dedicated, a teammate
- Critical thinking and business skills, with ability to understand key drivers that contribute to business success.
- Ability to interpret and analyze small to moderate size datasets and create analytic reports
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to maintain the highest standard of integrity, accuracy and precision
- Experience with process documentation.
- Ability to consistently produce quality results.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English)
- Solid Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, functions, etc.) and PowerPoint skills
- Basic SQL/SAS skills for reporting or experience with similar programming language (R, Python, etc.)
- Experience using Tableau (or other comparable tools) to create visual data presentations
- Experience with Business Objects
- Knowledge of relational databases and data warehouse principles
- Basic knowledge of statistics (e.g., multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, controlled test design
