**The Institute**

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).

**The role**

**About the l**ab**

The lab works on a family of protein kinases known as DYRK (dual-specificity tyrosine-regulated kinases), whose members -DYRK1A, DYRK1B, DYRK2, DYRK3, DYRK4- participate in the regulation of processes critical for cell viability and homeostasis. In general, alterations in DYRKs (expression or mutation) are linked to different cancer types. In addition, mutations in several DYRK genes are associated to developmental disorders, as in the case of the DYRK1A haploinsufficiency syndrome or the DYRK1B-associated metabolic syndrome. The group aims to dissect how DYRK activities are linked to human pathology. We are particularly interested on the DYRK-associated activities that impact on the regulation of expression programs either directly on chromatin or indirectly through modulation of signaling pathways.

**Professional experience**

**Must Have**
- Proven experience in molecular biology techniques, working with mammalian cells, including genetic manipulation by means of CRISPR-Cas9-based approaches and in evaluating protein kinases activity
- You have a good understanding of protein-protein interaction networks
- You have proven experience in performing and interpreting biotin-label proximity approaches for interactomic analysis
- You are able to generate and analyze proteomics and phosphoproteomics data
- Previous experience in working with R programming

**Desirable but not required/ Nice to **have**
- First author publication record in international peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in performing and interpreting ChIP-Seq and RNA-Seq experiments

**Education and training**
- You hold a PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or similar
- PhD Thesis defended from 2021 onwards

**Languages**
- You are fluent in English, spoken and written

**Competences**
- You have highly developed organization skills.
- You have dedication, motivation, and rigor in scientific pursuits.
- You have both the ability to work within a team and independent working skills.
- You have good training skills in the transfer of technical knowledge to students under training.
