**Senior Financial Controller**
Incubeta seeks to appoint a Senior Financial Controller who will be responsible for reporting financial information to senior operational leaders for the Southern Europe region (Spain, Italy & Portugal).

The Senior Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all financial information presented. They will be responsible for maintaining internal financial processes and be confident in presenting, explaining and questioning financial information. This is a ‘hands-on’ role which will require someone with drive and ambition in order to push through continuous improvement initiatives and develop world class financial support.

**Key Responsibilities**
Month End / Year End
- Ensure that all month-end deadlines are met;
- Support Account Managers with their billing process design;
- Reviewing GP/Work in Progress accounts with the Managing Director of the region;
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of internal rebilling;
- Providing detailed insights into actual vs budget variances to finance and regional management teams;
- Produce error-free management accounting reporting packs;
- Presenting monthly financial results to the Managing Director and representing

finance on monthly regional performance calls;
- Support year-end close process;
- Work closely with the O2C/P2P streams to understand key P&L risks, ensure

accuracy of coding and improve processes;
- Support other team members and ad hoc reporting as necessary;

**Financial Process and Control**
- Reviewing control account reconciliations, ensuring open items are investigated and

actioned on a timely basis;
- Implement required controls to prevent adverse audit findings;
- Reviewing payroll reports and investigating unusual movements;
- Routinely advising/training operational employees on financial processes and controls;
- Continually searching for efficiencies in the way data is captured, processed and analysed;
- Working closely with with O2C/P2P streams to ensure queries and issues are resolved in a timely manner;
- Supporting the design and implementation of new finance processes and initiatives as and when required;

**Budgets & Forecasts**
- Preparing budgets and forecasts in accordance with group timeframes;
- Working with local Managing Directors to convert strategies into financial targets;
- Challenging Managing Directors on budget reasonableness;
- Monthly management of the business units’ budget, reporting variances to management and challenging underlying spend/performance;
- Periodically updating budgeted amounts with forecast data.

**Statutory Requirements**
- Reviews the necessary monthly/quarterly statutory returns;
- Ensuring all audit teams queries are resolved in a timely manner;
- Support with queries related to the preparation of statutory financial statements;
- Attending technical training as and when required;
- Ensuring statutory adjustments are recognised in local management reports.

**Skills required**
- Relevant finance degree/diploma preferred;
- Must be Spanish native speaker, fluent in English and able to attend the office in Madrid on a regular basis;
- Computer literacy including experience of accounting software packages;
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles;
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process;
- Project Accounting advantageous.

- Ability to act and operate independently with mínimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives;
- Ability to work cross functional with senior management and to convey financial information to non financial teams;
- Critical thinker with emotional resilience to overcome obstacles.
