**Job Description and Qualifications**

We also provide a comprehensive range of engineering services and solutions to support more than 150 Air Products assets across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. This includes Air Products owned plants and those designed and constructed for our customers.
To grow and sustain our operations business, we are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced **Plant Process Engineer** to expand the process engineering expertise within our European engineering team. Based at one of our locations in Spain, this opportunity will suit a talented achiever looking to showcase their skills within a high performing team.

We are looking for a **Plant Process Engineer** base in **Barcelona.**
This role will work directly with the EMEA Plant Process Engineering team providing primary process and operational support to our Air Products operating facilities.
**As Plant Process Engineer, you will**:
- Provide process technical support to a range of Industrial Gases plants across Spain, working closely with various operating and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve critical plant issues.
- Assess plant efficiency, identifying underperformance and driving resolution to ensure on target plant performance.
- Supervise specialist onsite process activities including plant shutdowns and startups, adsorbant or catalyst loading, operational readiness inspections, commissioning, trials and performance testing.
- Evaluate plant productivity improvements, either theoretically or through plant testing and develop/implement the solution to realise those benefits.
- Produce P&ID change notes, process designs, equipment specifications, control strategies and operating documentation for plant modifications.
- Provide process support to maintenance activities and plant shutdowns.
- Support Plant Hazard Reviews and safety retrofit projects to ensure future safe operation.
- Provide technical operations input to the business area, supporting initiatives including contract rolls, new plants and plant relocations.
- Uphold a high standard of engineering practice, technical governance, and operational discipline.
**What we’ll be looking for**
- A high level of technical expertise ideally suited to someone with a chemical engineering or related degree with 3+ years relevant technical experience.
- Practical, onsite plant experience.
- Engineering design and management of change experience
- Discipline to work to a schedule and manage competing priorities.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a technical team.
- Be prepared to respond to plant problems outside working hours with a willingness to travel to site at short notice.
- Experience with control systems and Aspen DMC is advantageous
- Fluent in Spanish and English
