Job Purpose:
As a Senior SQL Server DBA, you will work with highly competent DBAs and Database Architects in a technologically diverse environment across the globe. You will support On-premises SQL Servers & Azure SQL DB technologies and utilize the Azure Cloud platform.

**Responsibilities**:

- Automate the build, operation, backup, restore, and monitoring of databases across the global estate.
- Develop and evaluate database infrastructure performance criteria and measurement methods.
- Support day-to-day operations and management of an enterprise-level production database in the Azure Cloud.
- Monitors user access and performance of the database systems in On-Prem and Azure Cloud platforms.
- Provide technical support in database administration, focusing on technology, strategy and operations.
- Installation, configuration and Upgradation of SQL Server software, Service Packs and Hotfixes.
- Tuning, Indexing and optimizing databases.
- Perform SQL Server database support, including monitoring performance and availability, database sizing, database maintenance, query/configuration tuning, and database migration.
- Resolve database-related incidents, reviewing service-related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance, monitoring) daily to ensure service-related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs
- Implement database automation tools to improve delivery and operations continuously.

What is needed to be successful in the role:

- Minimum 8 years of solid experience supporting SQL SERVER databases in a production environment.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of SQL Server Architecture\Administration\Fundamentals\Internals.
- Expert with setup and supporting SQL Server HA and DR solutions.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience supporting Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Elastic Pools, Failover Groups in the Azure Cloud platform.
- Expert in handling SQL Server database performance issues, connectivity/security issues and database corruptions in a critical production environment.
- Must be an expert in troubleshooting SQL Always-On Clusters and SQL Replication problems.
- Capable of providing provide 24X7 support in a critical production environment.
- Profound experience in providing maintenance of corporate databases, including backup, database optimization, reindexing, managing statistics, initiating recovery procedures and routine troubleshooting.
- Experience with Database Migration tools like Azure DMS, DMA, Data Studio and Azure Storage Accounts.
- Experience in migrating SQL databases from On-Premises to Azure Cloud.
- Expert-level exposure with Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions and SQL Code tuning.
- Expert-level experience with the T-SQL scripting language.
