**Position Title**:Accountability Assistant

**Status**:Intern - 6 months

**Reports to **MEAL Coordinator

**Supervises**:N/A

**Start Date**:June 5, 2023

**Mission Statement**:To improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly women and children.

**Role Purpose**

The Accountability Assistant Intern will promote transparency and accountability within our programs and build stakeholder trust and confidence. She/He will support the organization's accountability and transparency efforts to ensure that programs are carried out ethically and responsibly. The specific duties include:

- Conducting regular monitoring program activities to ensure compliance with humanitarian standards;
- Responding to complaints and feedback from stakeholders, including beneficiaries and partners, and coordinating follow-up actions as necessary;
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the organization's accountability and transparency efforts; and
- Participating in training and awareness-raising activities for staff and stakeholders on accountability and transparency principles and practices.

**Major Responsibilities**:
**Field Tasks**
- Travel and visit customers regularly throughout the communities.
- Maintain open communication and positive working relationships with participants and stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships and communication lines with communities, including local authorities, community leaders, and participants.
- Ensure communication with the community and awareness-raising and mobilization activities in the communities.
- Assist in Planning, supervising, and contributing to distribution and post-distribution activities.
- Work with help desk members to collect complaints in case of field distribution.
- Monitor and report the activities of Distribution in the field.
- Preparation of the chosen locations for distribution
- Collect and log feedback through the system in place
- Active participation in household surveys for selecting beneficiaries
- Support communication between project stakeholders and managerial staff for Breeders, VSLA, and other Econ. Dev. activities.
- Support the MEAL Officer and the Program Coordinator in implementing any program or MEAL activities.
- Contribute to writing impact stories
- Participate in periodic program meetings
- Perform other admin duties/projects as assigned

**Accountability**
- Through our accountability system, the assistant must address feedback and issues with beneficiaries and stakeholders. Monitor and inform them of the resolution of those issues.
- Support the programs implementing the HFH accountability system to ensure that the actions proposed in the intervention meet the expectations of beneficiaries and partners and are executed per the planning.
- Support the implementation of the transversal protection plan in the projects based on the guidance from the Accountability focal point.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES**
- Education: Minimum of two years of college or trade school education in a business, communications, or computer-related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 months of paid or volunteer work experience with computer desktop support in a networked environment for a small to mid-sized organization.

Hope for Haiti is looking for applicants with the following:

- Have a good understanding of the complaint and feedback mechanisms
- Exceptional customer service skills,
- The ability to work well in a team environment,
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Proven knowledge of Google Suite and Office Suite, Windows 10, or later Operating systems.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems.
