MAPFRE seeks a self-motivated, well-connected, and experienced public relations professional to take its innovation communications to the next level. This role will help to drive a breadth communication campaign, telling the MAPFRE Open Innovation story to a diverse audience including technology leaders, business leaders, insurance and insurtech professionals, as well as the general public.

We’re also searching for someone who possesses extensive media relations and social media experience, who is an expert at writing and disseminating news releases and customer success stories, is experienced with issues management and crisis communications, can exercise high-judgment while acting quickly, and can lead communications strategy at events.

- What will you do in this position?- Regularly interact with MAPFRE’s innovation team and communicate MAPFRE stories and strategic messages on innovation.
- Deliver the PR strategy and plan for MAPFRE Open Innovation, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with Insurtech, and business press and influencers.
- Develop proactive innovation focused stories for our own channels.
- Write and evolve local messaging and talking points.
- Write and edit press releases and communications plans.
- Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high-judgment and professionalism.
- Be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, and resourceful in problem-solving.
- Manage third-party agencies to support PR activities.
- What are the requirements for this position?- 5+ years of public relations experience.
- An advanced (C1) command of English.
- Proven experience managing innovation communication projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale corporate communications campaigns.
- Extensive experience working with media, industry analysts, and other corporate influencers.
- Experience with insurance and/or insurtech.
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational skills, while also staying on top of tactical execution.
- Comfortable working on their own to deliver high quality results.
- Exhibits excellent business judgment.
- Ensures integrated communications approach, considering all audiences and communications channels.
- Expects and requires innovation of themselves and those around them; Is action and results oriented.
