Ria is looking to hire a qualified Retail Auditor for our retail business in Europe. The position will be based out of Madrid, Spain. The main objective of the position is to perform audits in company-owned and operated retail stores and outlets so that internal controls are maintained and improved, assets are safeguarded, and policies and procedures are complied with. - Responsibilities
Effectively audit and investigate all aspects of store processes including store security and safety, regulatory compliance, record keeping, scheduling, etc.
Conduct physical inventory of cash and other merchandize from time to time to prevent fraud and loss (announced or unannounced audits).
Review transactions, documents, records, reports, and methods for accuracy (or to detect errors) and effectiveness.
Prepare detailed report on audit findings and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions, improvements in operations, and/or reductions in cost.
Assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.
Work with the accounting, retail, and compliance teams to ensure proper business methods are established.
Perform accounting review at store level during physical audits.
Takes initiative to explore and suggest new process that can allow better control or performance. Positive attitude towards the job, colleagues and demonstrates a sense of urgency to deliver results.
- Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business Administration with knowledge in Internal Audit or 3 to 5 years in Operational Audits. (preferred)
Have retail business and cash control experience. (A plus)
Ability to travel locally and within the Europe with flexible working hours and days as required. (overnight travel is required, 65-70% of the time)
Must be detailed oriented with good communication skills. (relate information clearly, concise and in a positive manner that yields cooperation and builds teamwork)
Bilingual-Spanish and English required.
Analytical, adaptability, and critical thinking skills.
Strong computer skills using MS office. (Excel formulas
- Vlookups, IF functions, Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts)
Have prioritization skills to successfully complete assigned tasks.
Must be able and willing to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
