A vacancy for a Materials and Processes Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe.

The successful applicant will join Materials & Process TEPMO Department. “O” stands for P”O”lymers and C”O”mposites. This is a technical domain inside the M&P group.

We are looking for an Engineer or Sciences Degree with experience in Materials and Processes, focused on Materials Qualification, Processes Control, testing of Materials & Processes and development projects in the Composite Manufacturing field.

The position requires a good balance between a high technical expertise in the M&P Projects, composite manufacturing processes, polymeric materials and materials testing in general and some managerial skills.

**Responsabilities**

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Material Qualification: Identification, evaluation, preparation and executions of material qualification plans for military Aircraft projects. Material specifications definition. Desig n, management and evaluation of material test plans and corresponding test reports.
- Processes Qualification. Definition, coordination and execution of technology qualification plans. Carry out analysis of deviations and ano m a lies.
- Representing the M&P department in MFT s, Task Groups, in the Projects and scopes a ssigne d.

Concerning individual activities you will be requested to:

- Act as a technical specialist in the field of assigned technologies and scop e.
- Maintain technologica l awareness in the assigned technology/knowledge areas.
- Contribute to the preparation of technology roadmaps from projects needs and technology surveys in coordination with the rest of M&P group as required.

**Required abilities**
- Educated to degree level in Engineering. Valuable: Master's Engineer or Master's Sciences Degre e. Airbus Composite Material Master.
- Experience in Engineerin g, at least 5 years of proven experience in Composite Materials especially, but not only, as well as in composites manufacturing by different processes, testing of polymeric materials including also mechanical testing, experience with other polymeric materials, like adhesives, foams, honeycombs.
- Good Knowledge and practical experience of processes for polymeric materials & composites & on processes qualification.

You should have also experience/knowledge i n:

- Knowledge about the materials requirements for Aircraft Airbus Standards and quality standards.
- Management of R&D studies project s.
- Scientific and technology laboratories (materials analysi s, physical observation of sam p l es ), et c. Project Managemen t.
- Organization of event s on Technical topics.

**Basic Skills**
- You are recognized for your flexibility, interpersonal skills, ability to find solutions and for your ability to face pressure.
- A good level of English and Spanish is required for this position. Other languages are also appreciated.
- Availability for relatively frequent travelling is required.
