What you’ll do & Who you are
The Global Privacy team, part of the Legal organisation, is spearheading a transformation in the way people’s data is used. We aim to achieve an upward shift in maturity over the next few years, and we need smart and solution-oriented people to create a team to drive this.
As a Data Privacy Business Partner for Product Engineering, Technology and Data, you´ll be working closely with the Product & Tech organisation to deliver the data privacy strategy through product outputs, as an integrated component of key product teams and domains, not as an afterthought or bolt-on to the finished article. We are a new team at Adevinta, so together with the DPO’s, privacy managers and specialists you will have plenty of opportunity to influence ways of working, develop best practices and evolve the role as we grow together with the company.
In this role you’ll:
- Drive innovation by thinking differently about Privacy and challenging the status quo to contribute to shaping and iterating the Privacy by Design approach and risk framework, in a tech context- Realise and exploit the synergies of working alongside our Information Security team on related assessments, and associated risks including their team of Engineers and the Architecture community- Collaborate with our Data teams, to support the development of the Adevinta data strategy and improve our maturity in areas such as data inventories, mapping and retention.- Enable the Privacy by Design approach to support the appropriate management of risk and DPIAs and together with the product teams and vendors, identify remediation activities to be built in as part of the SDLC.- Develop and lead a data privacy network across the Product and Tech organisation to become a trusted advisor through proactive support and building of relationships and continuously improve and develop best practice.- Operationalise and keep relevant our training and awareness strategy with the Product & Tech organisation, running training sessions and influencing key stakeholders by acting as a go-to contact point for key stakeholders and privacy questions- Contribute to management reporting on the performance of Product teams, using carefully defined Privacy KPIs through oversight/monitoring and securing the implementation of technical Privacy controls in the Product & Tech environment (e.g. automation of processes required by GDPR)- Continuously develop both Privacy/ legal knowledge and digital capabilities, always striving to learn from both regulatory and industry developments
Qualifications/ Skills- Proactive. Creative problem solver- Solid communication skills and a keen team player- Excellent collaborator and teambuilder- Experience in working in Digital/ IT/ Product teams- An intrinsic curiosity and interest in Privacy, together with at least five year’s experience in working in Privacy teams and/ or projects- Knowledge of different types of digital technology which create privacy impacts (e.g cloud, artificial intelligence etc.)- Information Security skills, qualifications or experience (desirable)- CIPP or equivalent privacy qualification (desirable)
