The **UCAM-SENS** unit and **Hydro-MRLab** are recruiting a **PhD student**.

**Background**

In a collaborative project between the **UCAM-SENS** unit and **Hydro-MRLab**, supported by “Fundación Estrella de Levante”, we aim to provide and demonstrate new analytical tools for the in situ and automatized monitoring of the water bodies in the Region of Murcia (Spain).

The **UCAM-SENS** is a scientific unit that strives for the true digital transformation of key domains such asHealth, Sport, Food and the Environment by using advanced (bio)chemical sensing based on electrochemistry and imaging principles. The **Hydro-MRLab** works in the evaluation of water systems based on imaging analysis
techniques through the installation of video cameras in a non-intrusive and continuous mode. The **UCAM-SENS** unit and **Hydro-MRLab** have merged their expertises in water monitoring through digital tools to build up a convergence project to investigate new monitoring actions applied to environmental water systems.

The project will be hosted at the HiTech (Health, Sport and Innovation Hub) research building, which is an international, multicultural and multidisciplinary environment where people, ideas, knowledge, and necessities meet together to pose and address new societal challenges.

**Eligibility**
- Hold an Engineer/Licentiate bachelor's degree (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Civil, other), and a completed M.Sc. degree in related fields. For non-Spanish bachelor degrees, please, convert the Bachelor's and master’s final marks to the Spanish system.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following fields: electrochemistry, chemical sensors, electroanalysis, modelling of environmental systems. Please, attach publications and/or master's thesis related to the above experience.
- Advanced English level (B/6).

**Application**

- Reference letters from previous supervisors and/or teachers.
