Fcas2023: Domain Architect

A vacancy for a Solution Architect (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the “Architecture Management Team”.

We are looking for a Domain Architect to design FCAS environment (specially focus on Software Engineering). As a transversal architect you have to be capable of going through and learning new technologies according to the speed of change of the Digital arena (main domains to be covered are Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Software Construction and Execution, Software Quality and Testing, SW configuration management...). You will be involved in projects and initiatives running under the Airbus Digital Capabilities.

The domain architect:

- Designs domain-specific target architectures and underlying design principles to steer specific solution architectures
- Co-creates required architecture artefacts with Enterprise Architects, e.g., architecture blueprints and technical debt backlog
- Manages domain IT specific technology lifecycle in alignment with enterprise architects and translates it into a domain transformation roadmap
- Acts as Lead Architect in programs when related to large solution crossing domains
- Accounts for cross-architecture layer / end-to-end IT architecture consistency within the domain
- Drives architecture effectiveness from a functional end-to-end perspective with cross-layer responsibility to ensure close integration of layers
- Supports solution architecture by identifying and evaluating solution options
- Acts as an internal consultant and independent moderator in domain specific design discussions and supports and guides Solution Architects to facilitate effective projects
- Assesses deviation from standards, recommends standard alternatives and documents technical debt

Your Profile:

- several years of experience in modern Infrastructure Architecture/Service Architecture
- passion for new technologies and willingness to learn according to the speed of change of the digital arena
- highly creative thinker with business outcome orientation
- ability to grasp complex and diverse topics quickly
- solid communication and interpersonal skills are a must: good communication skills towards different stakeholders, good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex matters in an approachable way
- desire to work in an international and multicultural environment
- willingness to travel occasionally
- deep knowledge of DevSecOps principles and implementation
- solid understanding of infrastructure as a code (IaC) principles and bare metal clouds and also software defined datacenter infrastructure architecture (Compute, Network, Storage)
- knowledge of security concepts in a military environment would be a major plus, i.e. government (NATO / OCCAR restricted) environments or critical infrastructure
- languages: English at negotiation level, additional languages (i.e. French, German, Spanish) are a plus
