Trial Technician

Reporting to:
Team Lead External Trials / (Senior) Product Specialist / (Senior)Breeder/ Station Manager

Purpose:
Crop care at external trial location and collection of trial data of breeding

and/or screening trials.

Geographical Scope:
1 country

Operational

Key Accountabilities:
1. Sowing, young plant raising and planting of external trials.

2. Care and treatment of crops at the external trial location.

3. Harvesting of seeds and fruits.

4.

Collection and administration of trial data on a limited number of pre
- defined plant or fruit traits, and timely reporting thereof.

5. Responsible for following the relevant protocols of the 3rd parties

in order to guarantee local quality and phytosanitary compliance of the

trials.

6. May be responsible for the planning of assigned trials in the different

locations.

Main Contacts - Internal:

- Breeding teams - Obtain seeds for external trials. Exchange information, obtain instructions with regards to collection of trial data, report trial data, trial evaluations.

Main Contacts - External:

- Growers where trials are executed - Exchange information, relationship management.

Minimum Working and Thinking Level:
Secondary vocational level (MBO)

Minimum Years of Relevant Work Experience:
1 to 2 years

Required Certifications, Knowledge and Skills:

- Educational background in Horticulture
- Awareness of hygiene measures
- Affinity with growers
- Proficient in the local language, both written and verbal

Working Conditions:

- Working in quite or very busy periods
- Routine work
- Physical strain due to lifting boxes, materials, etc.
- Unillateral/strenuous posture
- Working in conditioned climate/high temperatures
- Working outside in different weather conditions
- Weekend shifts
