**The Institute**

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

**The role**

We are seeking for a PhD student at the Cellular and Systems Neurobiology lab to work on the recently granted project “Understanding interneuronopathy in Down syndrome to identify interneuron targeted therapy” funded by Spanish Ministry of Science and led by Dr Mara Dierssen.

**About the l**ab**

The Dierssen lab is centred on understanding how genetic perturbation in mental disorders modifies the way the brain integrates information. We are an interdisciplinary team of physicists, bioinformaticians and experimental biologists, and we focus on data collection (behaviour, 3D imaging, multiomic data) of many variables of the system (behavioural analysis, neuronal networks, gene expression). We take advantage of computer modelling and bioinformatics analysis (gene networks, neuronal network modelling, etc.) to tackling classical unresolved questions in the field.

**Professional experience**

**Must Have**
- You have a BSc in Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Medicine or similar
- You have previous experience working in a wet lab of molecular biology
- You have proven experience in immunostaining, confocal imaging and molecular techniques

**Desirable but not required/ Nice to **have**
- Certificate of animal experimentation
- Experience in bioinformatics

**Education and training**
- You hold a MSc in Neuroscience
- You have experience in internships in molecular biology laboratories

**Languages**
- You are proficient in English

**Technical skills**
- You have advanced MS Office skills

**Competences**
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Highly motivation and organization skills, capable of working in a group, and with a high degree of work autonomy
