**About UIC Barcelona**

**What we’re looking for**

As R2-R3 you will have the backing of the support program for the stabilization of postdoctoral research personnel of the Department of Research of the Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya (ESTAB).

**Key responsibilities**
- To lead the management and/or coordination of programmes and perform any other academic tasks assigned to you by the Department.

**Selection process**
- A public oral defence by finalist applicants: a presentation about their career (both academic and teaching) and their research projects. Following the presentation, the examination panel will ask a series of questions to conclude the defence. The defence should last a total of 60 minutes.

**We offer**
- A full-time contract in a dynamic and international scientific environment in the Department of Bioengineering (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) at UIC Barcelona (Health Sciences Campus, Sant Cugat del Vallès)
- Lab bench in a wet lab and use of the Department’s scientific equipment
- Start date: March 2025 (date is negotiable)

**Requirements**:

- A PhD in a discipline related to the position.

**Assessment criteria**
- Excellent track record of publications
- Participation in funded research projects
- Research experience:

- Materials science: biomaterial formulation and material
characterisation.
- Engineering: 3D printing technology.
- SolidWorks like software for designing.
- Biological sciences: cell seeding onto biomaterials, cell-material interaction characterization
- Proven record of effective teaching.
- Oral and written proficiency in English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to get involved in one of the Faculty’s lines of research.
- Ability to supervise and guide both undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects.
