**Job Description Summary**: The System engineer will be leading all aspects of the engineering efforts to meet product targets by ensuring alignment within engineering disciplines, negotiating, collaborating and influencing both internally and externally with our clients.

In your role of System Engineer you will be the main owner for the product requirements and achievement of CTQs through the design, taking system level trades and decisions, contribution to and approval of requirements and customer facing technical documents. You will also provide technical guidance and team support on product and program definition and contribute to continuous improvement in product development processes from conceptualization to validation and certification.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support
- Lead and/or oversee system conceptual design studies and trade-offs that address product CTQs
- Contribute to and approve system requirements (through Design Memos) and ensure both proper flow down to design team and interfaces management
- Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents (owner of operation manual, preservation manual,)
- Responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications, impacting the products’ technical success, such as
- Product risk mitigation towards smooth service entry
- Preservation and maintenance strategies optimization
- Commissioning strategy optimization
- Owner of product validation strategy at system or turbine level
- Demonstrate effective risk mitigation and technical problem solving
- Work closely with the Chief Engineering Office across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade off decisions
- Promote design for reliability and ensure the return of experience to the new product introduction team
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience working on wind turbine system-related projects, issues and/or technologies.
- Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria, operation and systems integration
- Conceptual design and system-level trade-off experience
- Field issues, test and/or validation experience

- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
- System or product-level mindset and experience in engineering product development processes.
- Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making
- Experience in wind turbine product design and validation
- Effective problem identification and solving ability (RCA).
- Strong technical aptitude, interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills and a positive energy
- Established project management skills.
- Experience in wind Turbine Certification Processes
