**The role**

We are seeking a Bridge/ Civil Structures BIM Modeller with 3-6 years’ experience to join our Bridge Civil Structures team working collaboratively with other infrastructure engineers/ technicians across Arup Ireland Group 1 and Arup Spain. You shall play an active role in producing 3D models and drawings for all stages of a project, from scheme design to construction design. Our projects vary across numerous sectors, and you shall be part of the Bridge Civil Structures team working collaboratively with other infrastructure engineers/technicians across Ireland Group 1 and Arup Spain.

As a BIM Modeller with experience of transportation infrastructure projects, we want to ensure that you continue to develop your technical expertise and career. To achieve this, you shall have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team based out of the Dublin/Cork or Madrid office, working closely with fellow Engineers and Technicians who are continuously striving to enhance Arup's overall Bridge Civil Structures skill capabilities.

You will be helping with the Production of BIM documentation across various projects and helping to coordinate with different disciplines, both internal and external, preparing and maintaining BIM models using Bentley or Autodesk BIM Solutions.

Other duties will include, but will not be restricted to:

- Production of detailed general arrangement and concrete detailing drawings using MicroStation or AutoCAD
- Assisting the team in creating detailed drawing lists for various Bridge Civil Structure projects
- Checking drawings and models for accuracy and quality of your output, as well as work produced by others', ensuring outputs meet the required standards
- Managing your own time on projects to ensure deadlines are met
- Helping with creating project-related correspondence and reports
- Assisting in the development of other team members where required
- Contributing to the development of good practice and processes through involvement with the Arup skills network
- Attend and participate in, presentations and workshops

In the long-term, you will strive to understand the design process the engineers utilise within the team, helping the technicians explore the capabilities of various software, and developing ways in which the software can streamline the delivery of our work. You will support the team by helping to deliver high-quality BIM models to communicate our design work.

**Requirements**:

- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (Structures). Other technical qualifications may be considered where presentation and 3D modelling skills are of a high standard
- Demonstrate a sound technical base with experience in civil engineering
- Demonstrate an experience in reinforcement detailing for civil structures
- Demonstrate experience in the use of the following software packages:

- CAD packages - AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Applied skills in 3D Design Software such as MicroStation CE (OpenBridge or OpenRoads) primarily. The experience with Revit or Tekla would be useful
- Usual office software, i.e. Word, Excel etc
- Use of information management software such as ProjectWise
- Ability to coach and develop other more junior technicians when required

**Desirable**
- Appropriate degree and in Engineering or similar civil structures design profession
- Demonstrate good written communication skills and will be able to explain their work confidently to internal and external colleagues
- Understanding of Bridge Civil structures, (and the key interactions between other assets such as Railway, Highways)
- Experience within reinforcement detailing
- Experience within steelwork detailing will be useful
- Good team player and supportive of the other disciplines
- Highly motivated and with a desire to tackle interesting problems with the opportunity
