We are based in Madrid and have the option of working at the studio and/or remotely.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create gameplay and in-game cinematic lighting based on given art direction.
- Design lighting systems that will support the atmosphere and gameplay effects.
- Work with the Art Director and concept artists to dress up environments and set up final lighting rigs.
- Understand the game design and artistic direction documents to get to know the challenges that will impact game lighting.
- Verify the quality of the lighting once the elements are imported into the game and make any necessary improvements.
- Ensure that lighting assets meet performance budgeting requirements.
- Fix the lighting bugs spotted by QAs.
- Stay current with industry lighting techniques.

Requirements / Skills
- Experience setting up real time lighting.
- Art-related education and/or comparable professional experience.
- Advanced knowledge in postprocess shaders and programming light functions, as well as proficiency in handling blueprints.
- Working knowledge of creating lighting within a pre-baked light-map pipeline.
- Understanding of composition and the ability to enhance mood with lighting.
- Effectively use Color Grading and Post Effects to enhance the final environment.
- Extensive knowledge of color theory and strong sense of light and shadow.
- Have an excellent communication and team-work skills.

Nice to have
- Advanced knowledge of Lumen in UE5 and its new methodologies within the dynamic global lighting system.
- Knowledge of volumetric clouds and fog materials.
- Deep knowledge of performance and optimization at a low level in the engine (configuration in.ini documents).
