**Description**:
As a (Senior) Claims Counsel, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a dynamic team of claims professionals, with responsibility for adjusting a varied and international portfolio of Financial Lines claims. You will also report to underwriters and management on the latest claims developments and trends and represent Tokio Marine HCC at marketing events and conferences.
**Key responsibilities**
- Adjusting an international portfolio of Financial Lines (FL) claims, including D&O, E&O, EPL, Crime, Cyber and Warranty & Indemnity claims.
- File opening and administration in our electronic claims management system.
- Correspondence with brokers, the insured, vendors and other external stakeholders in relation to the adjustment of claims.
- Policy coverage analysis.
- Monitor reserves.
- Manage relations with vendors (e.g. external counsel) and critically evaluate their advice.
- Attend market calls, mediations, court and arbitration hearings.
- Negotiate and settle claims.
- Order payments.
- Update underwriters and management on claims developments and trends.
- Assist underwriters with policy wording queries.
- Participate in marketing events and attend conferences.
**Skills and experience we seek**
- Significant FL experience in-house with an international insurer or in private legal practice.
- Native level German and fluent English. Additional languages a plus.
- Ability to deal with a large and varied workload and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Familiarity with electronic claims management systems and ECF a plus.
- Initiative and a willingness to take responsibility.
- Service orientated.
- Ability to thrive as part of a team.
