Responsible for total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of an assigned (Sub) Commodity (with the focus on Pooling).

How to contribute to our vision
- Manages (Sub) Commodities cross-business (for specific material field) or for one business, and fosters cross-functional alignment.
- Coordinates and manages a virtual/ line management team to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities and to increase profit from global and cross-business or sourcing for one business. Defines (Sub) Commodity structure, organization and strategy in alignment with Management; develops and implements material productivity measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets.
- Communicates the strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
- Negotiates frame contracts; defines core assortment; documents frame contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems.
- Forwards systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g. updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all project participants up to date.
- Identifies particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through risk and change management.
- Performs Supplier Management, in particular Supplier Development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain.

Specific Requirements
- Define and develop Towers supply chain for wind turbine projects in EMEA (tower manufacturing both ON & OF BUs). Provide commodity insights as Commodity Manager and team lead on all key buying strategies. Organize and execute regional and cross regional supply strategies for wind towers. Analyze markets and demands to the supply base and formulate strategies for future contract and project requirements. Work closely with Engineering and Marketing for new potential project requirements. Develop best source on project basis by working closely with Project Management and Marketing to enable best solution. Support department goal of building up SGRE global supply chain for high volume production of Wind Turbines in EMEA in cooperation with global Commodity Management team.
- Position Responsibilities
- Develop supply base for Wind Towers in EMEA, including buying strategies to purchase and achieve timely deliveries of supplies and materials. Focus on steel tubular towers.
- Negotiate prices, terms and quality requirements with suppliers.
- Manage suppliers to ensure they maintain high product quality.
- Maximize financial recovery from suppliers for any non-conformance to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy’s (SGRE) requirements.
- Team will resolve complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases. Develop project plans to implement solutions.
- Team will work with value analysis experts to identify cost improvements. Develop cost saving proposals including process improvements, design improvements and alternative sourcing.
- Support team to maintain SAP information system integrity and data accuracy. Manage P.O.'s through SAP.
- Work closely with Industrial and Marketing teams to ensure accurate project quotes and delivery of towers in line with project calculations.
- Skills and Knowledge:

- Must possess excellent communication skills - written, oral, and presentation.
- Must possess business management and entrepreneurial skills.
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be diplomatic and able to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, project management, manufacturing, engineering and other departments, and factory personnel.
