We are a completely remote team spread across the world, with a deep passion for making the web a more beautiful, usable, and reliable place.

We are looking for a technical lead to join our company as the Data Engineering Lead. In this role, you will be part of a newly formed team to build a state of the art data system for the company from the ground up. As the Data Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure and pipelines that enable efficient data operations.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with company-wide stakeholders to define data engineering requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Work with Product, Marketing, and Finance teams to take inventory of all data assets and build a data catalog for discoverability.
- Ensure data compliance by implementing access management and traceability.
- Create data pipelines from all data assets and help maintain infrastructure.
- Perform transformation and cleaning operations on the data to create quality tiers.
- Iterate on the system design as it scales by integrating additional internal products.
- Integrate business intelligence tools into data system for internal stakeholders.
- Perform data analysis and visualizations on cleaned data.

**Skills**:

- 5+ years with data architecture, pipelines, transformation, cleaning, and analysis.
- Experience implementing modern data platforms such as Databricks, Dataiku, Snowflake or similar.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders for data cataloging and metadata management.
- Ability to collect, store, and process large datasets.
- Ability to implement data access management controls.
- Expertise with Python, SQL.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Airflow.
- Familiarity with data visualization (Plotly, Looker, PowerBI, or similar)
- Ability to extract insights from large datasets.
- Ability to work proactively with a small team in a fast-paced environment

**Nice to have**:

- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience in e-commerce
- Experience working with international teams
- Experience working in a startup or scale up environment
- Located in GMT, or within +/-3 hours
