**Project description**

Airbus UpNext has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable power generation source used onboard the aircraft. This demonstrator will have a crucial role in determining the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in aviation.

This position is within the **Airbus UpNext **subsidiary in Spain and you are accountable for supporting and contributing to the execution strategy, organization, operations and performance of the Industrialisation.

**Mission**

The demonstrator will integrate complex systems including power generation, electrical distribution and conversion, fuel storage and distribution, pneumatic and thermal systems. Those systems will include novel technologies for aviation, and will be integrated in a new system with new operational constraints. In order to validate and verify these systems, dedicated test means will be developed for this purpose.

The role of the Lead Test Engineer will be to lead the architecture, design, development and associated validation of all necessary test means, instrumentation and data acquisition needed to fulfill the objective of the project system verification.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Accountable for definition of the overall test means architecture based on test requirements.
- Lead the activities of the specification defined by the project test strategy including component selection, design, development and commissioning the laboratory test means defined for each of the subsystems and the overall system integration bench.
- Lead the internal project specification of the instrumentation and data acquisition equipment needs considering the test requirements, participating to the definition of such means with third parties involved
- Accountable for definition of the test tools used on the different test means.
- Contribute to the testing verification activities needed for the flight test clearance.

You are able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

- At least 6 years’ experience in testing activities, flight worthy instrumentation and data acquisition
- Confirmed background on different tests means development and commissioning activities
- Confirmed knowledge of different aircraft platforms and systems
- Knowledge in HW and SW applicable to Control and Monitoring systems
- Background in aircraft system design
- Experience in supplier activity management
- Keen to take initiatives to propose simpler and efficient ways of working
- Ready to step out of your comfort zone
