Company Description
**HE Space** is a successful international space company. For 40 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. HE Space has joined forces with CS Group to lead the engineering and digital space market in Europe and to provide highly skilled consulting.

**Job Description**:
As part of the ESAC’s migration team, you will have the following responsibilities:

- Analyze the PDS3 holdings in the PSA to evaluate the level of effort needed to migrate the data to PDS4;
- Document the data formats used by each instrument data product type including calibration, geometry and other ancillary data;
- Confirm if each product data format is compatible with PDS4 (and if so, which data structure(s)) or if not compatible, the contractor shall list which PDS4 data structure(s) that would be used instead;
- Consider content of the “extras“ directory to determine how it fits into a PDS4 bundle;
- Consider only the last version of each dataset;
- Determine the logical structure of each PDS4 bundle;
- Generate context products for:

- Missions (investigations),
- Spacecraft (instrument host), and instruments;

These shall be curated from the existing PDS3 datasets (e.g. catalog files)
- Create a mapping of meta-data in PDS3 products data into PDS4;
- Mapping to core PDS4 information model and discipline dictionaries or to mission and instrument meta-data if no core/discipline meta-data exist;
- Create mission and instrument dictionaries to include all identified mission and instrument-specific meta-data;
- Using the NASA-provided LDDTool utility;
- Create one template label per product type for each instrument, following PSA PDS4 conventions and rules;
- Complete static classes and attributes;
- Identify variable classes and attributes, corresponding to the mapping performed in the previous task;
- Dummy values shall be used to support validation using the PDS4 validate tool;
- Build a generic tool to write PDS4 labels for PDS3 data, for the cases where no data re-formatting is required;
- The physical structure of PDS3 datasets shall be maintained and mapped to a logical structure (one bundle per instrument) in PDS4;
- The Contractor shall avoid duplicating products in migrated bundles (e.g. documentation);
- The tool shall generate one PDS4 label for each labelled PDS3 products and shall add labels for un-labelled data;
- A test case, agreed with ESA, shall be used to demonstrate that the tool produces valid PDS4 products that can be ingested in PSA;
- Create one or more tools to re-format any input PDS3 products that are using data structures not allowed in PDS4;
- Use the outputs of the previous task to generate PDS4 bundles for all PDS3 datasets for both datasets needing format conversion and those not;
- Unless otherwise agreed with ESA, the contents of each PDS3 dataset should appear in a PDS4 bundle;
- Bundles should be complete, including necessary bundle and collection labels, readme files etc;
- Validate all generated PDS4 bundles with the current version of the PDS validate tool.
- Ensure that all generated PDS4 bundles are compatible with the PSA (test ingestions shall be performed to confirm this);
- Ensure that all generated PDS4 products open correctly in PDS4 tools (e.g. PDS4 Tools, Topcat, etc.) and show the same values as the original PDS3 products.

**Qualifications**:
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

- Minimum a bachelor's degree in information technology or a similar discipline;
- 2 years of experience in data migration processes;
- Experience with planetary data and ECSS standards would be an advantage;
