**Summary**:

Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work. May demonstrate work methods to new employees. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in exchanges of factual information and provides some explanation in a problem solving capacity; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, require exchanging factual information and providing some explanation.

**Detailed Description**:
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

- Reviews and processes requisitions for low cost material purchases.
- Analyzes requirements and recommends actions regarding cost, quality and delivery for assigned purchases.
- Communicates with requisitioning department to provide order information and coordinate delivery.
- Coordinates with suppliers to gather bid information on price and availability.
- Executes Order Actions under direction of buyers and/or planners.
- Reviews invoices, and resolves discrepancies.
- Prepares necessary documentation for Return to Vendor Requests (RTVR) when product is Non Conforming, Excess Inventory based on buyer determination, requires Failure Analysis or Rework.
- Tracks customer supplied material.
- Maintains purchasing databases to ensure current and accurate information.
- Sets up new vendors in the system including information required for accurate order placement and invoicing.
- Runs system queries and generates reports in support of procurement staff.
- Supports production planners in the resolution of material issues.

**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:

- Basic knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant purchasing terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate routine office equipment, may include multi-line phone system.
- Ability to enter detailed data from source documents into various databases with speed and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion, while working with frequent and ongoing interruptions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to efficiently organize, file and retrieve hard copy and electronic information relating to the business of the work unit.

**Physical Demands**:

- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

**Typical Experience**:

- Four to five years of relevant experience.

**Typical Education**:

- Additional courses after High School, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Educational requirements may vary by geography.
