**Associate Director - Business Process Management and Optimisation**

The Business Process Management and Optimisation team are looking for someone to lead a defined set of Clinical Processes used in the delivery of studies. This role requires a highly organised & motivated individual who can operate across multiple areas of clinical trial delivery, working with senior stakeholders and audiences across R&D, IT and Ops to deliver processes that are used by the R&D organisation. The role requires excellent project leadership and a lean mindset to ensure optimal processes are implemented with the existing procedural framework that can be implemented to meet the needs of the business.

You will be an important member of the Business Process Management Team, and are accountable for the design, development, maintenance and optimisation of key Development Operations processes and procedural documents, that meet customer needs and enable optimal delivery of clinical studies.

The role is accountable for the identification, assessment and delivery of improvements within their assigned process area and when assigned support cross function improvements within Process Quality and Learning.

Acting as a champion for assigned elements of the business process framework and provide training and support when required.

As a strong advocate for lean, you will utilise tools and techniques to achieve continuous improvement, identify problems and serve as a change agent to drive and implement changes based on Regulatory and Business Requirements.

**Typical Accountabilities**:

- Design and own the process including standards and procedures within an assigned Process Area
- Document the process to appropriate level of detail and to relevant regulatory requirements
- Engage and lead a process network or appropriate forums to encourage best practises
- Drive adherence to the process and define KPIs; monitor and improve performance
- Manage continuous improvement and change
- Facilitate sharing of good practice and learning within function and cross functionally
- Monitor internal and external signals and trends. Stay aware of external environment and provide insights in to future possibilities.
- Identify issues and risks, escalate as required through appropriate governance forums
- Manage links with related processes and manage relationships with key stakeholders

**Critical requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience within a pharmaceutical or clinical background
- High level of business process knowledge
- Demonstrated project management skills and proven skills to deliver to time, cost and quality in large scale complex projects
- Proven leadership skills promoting motivation and empowerment of others in order to accomplish individual, team and organisational objectives
- Experience in working successfully and collaboratively with external partners delivering mutual benefit
- Ability to identify opportunities, lead and foster cross-functional collaboration, and to work across boundaries
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills, negotiation, presentation, knowledge transfer (mentoring), collaboration, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills.
