**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- General counselling for students (individually and in groups), depending on the appropriate needs of the students
- Assessment and diagnosis of students, followed by appropriate programme design and individual learning plan development
- Identify students with special needs and make appropriate recommendations and referrals
- Interpret educational psychologist’s/other specialist’s tests and reports
- Support individual students with a range of social-emotional needs
- Participate in and conduct professional learning experiences for staff which inform and up-skill them in dealing with students at risk in their classrooms.
- Liaise where appropriate with the Head of School, Heads of Section and other staff as a consultant for learning and behaviour problems and to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes
- Work collaboratively and proactively with the relevant faculty, parents, caregivers and other agencies to develop school-based support for students
- Develop and maintain a network of external providers and utilise these on behalf of students at appropriate times
- Be one of the Schools Child Protection Officers
- Respond as part of a team to critical incidents or emergencies
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies
- Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines
- Maintain records, as required by professional standards (especially according to GDPR) and by the Head of School
- Ensure awareness of the school’s support system and how to access it
- Raise awareness of mental illness and promote positive psychological health within the whole school community
- Assist in making recommendations for school curriculum and instructional practices.

**REQUIREMENTS**

Essential:

- Qualified studies: Psychology, Social Pedagogy and/or social work with emphasis in Counselling (at least a Master)
- Already be a confident and enthusiastic Counsellor with experience in counselling students
- Other experience in an educational setting
- Strong command of English as a language of instruction
- Resilience and flexibility
- Valid working permit / permission to work in Austria

Desirable:

- Have 3 years+ of experience in counselling.
- Knowledge and experience in an international school.
- Additional language(s), German would be an advantage.

**Salary**: 25,000.00€ - 30,000.00€ per year
