**Job Purpose**

Main responsibility is to manage the maintenance departmet of the two locations in the area of Barcelona. The referred locations are central to the company business results and require a strong asset maintenance program.

As an addition and aligned with the growth plan of Synthesia the Maintenance Manager of the referred locations, will also provide guidance on key maintenance programs to the rest of the locations of the company.

**Job Description/Key Accountabilities**:

- Translates the organization’s business goals into appropriate Maintenance, Reliability and Life Cycle Cost goals that support and contribute to the organization’s business results. To carry out this responsibility, he or she:

- Creates tactical and strategic plans for achieving the mission.
- Prepares and presents the business case for maintenance plan implementation.Obtains approval and funding for executing the plans.
- Works with the stakeholders within and external to the organization.
- Identifies barriers and risks to plan implementation and develops necessary strategies to mitigate them.
- Defines necessary channels to adequately communicate plan implementation status to stakeholders.
- Reaches mutually beneficial agreement with all supported operating departments on required capacity specifications, ideally in terms of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or similar metric that measures capacity losses related to quality, availability, and performance.
- Develops and controls the maintenance budget that provides for optimized spending to achieve the agreed-upon capacity and asset reliability.
- Periodically benchmarks current performance with internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitates good environmental, health and safety performance.
- Ensures equipment maintenance plans are created and implemented to support required levels of reliability:

- Creates a system that optimizes maintenance strategies according to criticality and failure consequences
- Identifies opportunities to convert time-based strategies to condition-based
- Develops a set of performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement
- Audits the system to ensure compliance
- Fosters a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Implements a structured process for performing maintenance work:

- Work identification / prioritization
- Planning and material acquisition
- Scheduling and backlog management
- Material resource management
- Efficient work execution
- Creation of effective work history
- Ensures effective use and integration of information technologies:

- CMMS SAP implementation, and usage
- Manufacturing information systems
- Process / quality control data
- Predictive maintenance information systems
- Document management

**Relationships**:
The Maintenance Manager is an integral member of the plant management team. He or she is an organizational peer and partner of the Production / Operations Manager. They are jointly responsible for effective capacity utilization, reliability and life cycle asset management of the facility.
- Min. Bachelor’s degree in Mainteance related field (mechanical or electrical)
- 8+ years of maintenance management experience.
- Deep understanding in Preventive Maintenance (mechcanical and electrical inspections, lubrication, etc.)
- Deep understanding in Predictive Maintenance (vibration analysis, lubrication based on condition, etc.)
- Experience working w Standard Costing systems and variance analysis (desired)
- Ability and energy to drive change management process
Extremely well organized, keen attention to detail and flexibility to work with different aspects of a business
- Experience in driving/leading efficiency programs based on Lean, Six Sigma, 8D or similar process improvement methods
