**Bioinformatics Project Manager**

**Biomedical Research in Urology (Oncology)**

The Research Unit in Urology is a multidisciplinary group formed by clinical specialists in Urology, Oncology,
and Pathology and Basic Researchers with extensive experience in the biology of prostate, renal, and
bladder cancer. The collaboration between clinicians and basic researchers allows for an easier identification
of unresolved issues in the current treatments/management of patients with urologic diseases. This
mechanisms at the base of disease progression. A deeper understanding of the pathways involved in the
progression of these cancers is necessary to advance in the development of preventive and curative
treatment strategies.

Contract linked to the project “TARTAGLIA: Red Federada de Inteligencia Artificial para acelerar la
Investigación Sanitaria”. Funding by Ministerio de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital in the Next
Generation funds.***

- Knowledge and preferably experience in genomic data analysis.
- Knowledge and preferably experience in data management and administration (collection systems,

storage, distribution...).
- Familiarity with modern database systems and information systems technologies.
- Good skills and experience working with Unix, Linux and development tools such as programming

languages (R, python, SQL), version control systems or containers.
- Fluent English in reading and writing.
- Ability to work independently and take the initiative when needed as well as ability to work within an

interdisciplinary group.
- Specific experience in big data analysis like OMICS, ML models, etc.
- Knowledge in any of the following topics: Ontologies, OMOP data models, SNOMED CT.
- Experience in Project Management will be a plus.
- Work experience in international environments will be a plus.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Help coordinate/manage internal and external resources from a technical perspective, ensuring the project
remains within scope, schedule, and budget, in collaboration with project members
- Give technical support to other group members
- Collaborate with other data scientists/engineers as well as specialist scientists and clinicians in urology, etc. with
the project related tasks
- Update and report relevant results to interdisciplinary project teams and stakeholders
- Participate in the technical part related to Artificial Intelligence.
- Explore data, extract insights using various ML/AI methods such as clustering, decision trees, neural networks
as appropriate, visualize and communicate findings to other group members
- Write and document analysis scripts in Python
