**About the role**:
The Group: Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, managed investments, portfolios, and markets. The group also collects and maintains high-quality data on the equities, managed investments, and fixed-income investments we cover in our database, one of the largest investment databases in the world. Morningstar is one of the largest independent sources of manager, equity, and credit research in the world. We transform data into insights that investors can use to reach their financial goals.
**The Role**:
The Fund Data Team requires a Data Analyst to process our Performance data across global markets. The analyst will need to work closely with the global Performance Team, taking responsibility for data coverage, quality, and timeliness to the highest standards. The Data Research Data Analyst will form closer links with providers related to data acquisition processes and gain expert knowledge of our database. The position will be based in our Data and Development Center EMEA and will report to the Data Director. The position is based in our Madrid office.
**Job responsibilities**:
- Collect and maintain Morningstar data, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, completeness and coverage.
- Meet the predetermined production deadlines for internal and external clients.
- Collaborate strongly with the global data teams.
- Continuously evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools, and implement process improvement projects.
- Act as an expert regarding investment data points and calculations, answering questions and escalations from data team.
- Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with fund companies and clients as well as 3rd party data providers.
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
- Solid understanding of the financial industry and passionate in investment data.
- Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling high volumes of data and meeting strict deadlines.
- Fluent in **English and German**. Other languages are a plus.
- Expertise in data, methodology, quality and processes.
- Ability to use one or more development language
- Ability to adapt well to different situations and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
