We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated individual to join our global Risk Management Consulting team as a Principal HAZOP Lead located in either Barcelona, Oslo, Copenhagen or Aberdeen. Our Risk Management Consulting team helps our clients to manage and reduce risk across their complex operations. We support owners and operators of complex, high-risk and capital-intensive assets, and their supply chains, ensuring the right solutions are in place to control risk and prepare for emergencies.

We work in partnership with owners and developers of energy, power and complex industrial assets and infrastructure, to interpret and manage complexity, reduce project risk, and optimise asset performance. We provide independent perspectives, deep domain expertise and engineering excellence.

In the role of Principal HAZOP Lead you will be responsible for:

- Leading HAZOP studies: Taking the lead in conducting comprehensive HAZOP studies for process plants and offshore facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Digital development: Promoting and supporting digital transformation initiatives within the organisation and with clients. Identifying opportunities to leverage digital tools, technologies, and data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HAZOP studies.
- Pre-sales activities: Participating in pre-sales activities by engaging with potential clients, understanding their needs, and providing technical expertise to develop proposals and win new business opportunities.
- Team collaboration: Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, safety professionals, project managers, and business development personnel, to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
- Thought leadership: Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to HAZOP studies. Contributing to the development and dissemination of thought leadership materials, white papers, and industry presentations.
- Mentoring and training: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members, sharing your expertise, and fostering their professional growth.

To be successful in the roles of Principal HAZOP Lead we are looking for you to have the following:

- A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, process safety, or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred).
- A minimum 15 years of experience in process plant and/or offshore operations, with a focus on HAZOP studies.
- A strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to HAZOP studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- An ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate thought leadership through industry publications, presentations, or participation in professional organisations.
