**Research Group on Aging, Frailty and Care Transitions in Barcelona (REFiT-**

**BCN)**

The Research Group on Aging, Frailty and Care Transitions in Barcelona (REFiT-BCN) offers a technical position for a

Research technician.

Research topic: Feasibility and acceptability of a robotic monitoring system to assess intrinsic capacity of community

dwelling older adults

Summary: The REFiT in VHIR and Parc Sanitari Pere virgili, is collaborating with the IRI (Institut de Robòtica Industrial)

in UPC and Elecrònica Saltó, to evaluate the effectiveness and the degree of trust of the different users (patients and

healthcare personnel) towards a robotic assistant for the evaluation of different relevant parameters in the assessment of

older persons frailty. This includes a study of body composition, a study of gait and strength, and a collection of surveys

(PROMS). In addition, it aims to monitor the evolution of the patient's physical condition and quality of life, through serial

assessments.

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**

Demonstrated experience working with older and/or frail adults

**Desired: -**

Experience/knowledge related to topics specific to geriatrics, frailty and/or aging
- Experience/knowledge participating in the research process, data collection and management
- Experience/knowledge participating in social research
- Ability to work as part of a team, good interpersonal skills, and a high level of motivation

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Coordinate the field work
- Recruit and evaluate participants physical function and cognitive function: older adults willing to participate
- Perform focus groups and semi-structured interviews to potential users
- Give support to research team in activities such as interpreting results, writing manuscripts and delivering
presentation at different scientific meetings

**Labour conditions: -**

Full-time position: 40h/week.

- Gross annual salary: 22.843,75 €
