BPM provides medical leadership with market participation and connectivity while also impacting the life cycle planning and execution of all our products. BPM aims to lead AZ in achieving scientific leadership, being a great place to work, and keeping patients at the core of everything we do.BPM Evidence is accountable for the delivery of global strategic studies required to generate the evidence to build the confidence on AZ therapies and additional observational research and externally sponsored research required by Global Product Teams.The Director, Real World Data (RWD) Strategy reports directly to the Senior Director, RWD Office and drives our data strategy for RWD. They will partner closely with therapeutic area evidence strategy leads and cross functional teams to plan for RWD needs, including use cases, timing of data availability, geographic coverage and RWD granularity. This critical role will also be accountable for driving and assessing opportunities to partner with other business units, markets and R&D teams on the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of RWD assets across the product lifecycle. By developing the RWD strategy & landscape across therapeutic areas, the Director, RWD Strategy enables the generation of timely Real World Evidence (RWE) by our cross-functional teams to drive patient impact.In order to accomplish our goals and enable the best patient outcomes, we look for future AZ leaders to have core capabilities:A track record of building and maintaining a deep continued connection to medical practice/healthcare deliveryCollaborative/matrix management skills with a focus on leading diverse groups (e.G., cultural, geographical, functional) to achieve excellent results in shared goalsStrong communication skills with the ability to distil complexity down to what matters to our stakeholdersStrong budget & project management skillsTypical AccountabilitiesDrive RWD acquisition and partnership strategy by synthesizing evidence requirements across BioPharma therapeutic areas and lead the long-term & cross-therapeutic area data strategyPlan for RWD needs (timing/modality/granularity/geographies) for priority initiativesSeek & evaluate external RWD sources & networks for fit-for-purpose RWDManage data licenses and vendor relations in partnership with Procurement and FinancePartner with RWD Engineer and RWD Technology & Governance Director on data quality validationBuild & drive systematic knowledge and organizational memory of RWD vendors & networks for cross-functional (re)useAct as a point of contact between BPM Evidence and other teams at AZ utilizing RWD (e.G
