It sums up a wide range of infrastructures geared toward finding solutions to societal challenges.Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), it is funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación) and the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament de Recerca i Universitats). The synchrotron light produced by 3 GeV electrons is used by thousands of researchers to analyse and understand the properties and functionality of matter across various fields, including catalytic research, health, energy production/storage, environmental research, communication technologies, or cultural heritage.Our highly motivated staff works in a multidisciplinary work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and respect. The facility offers various techniques to elucidate the structure and chemical composition of biological matter. Several biological laboratories totaling more than 200m2 support research from visiting groups and in-house projects, including a general laboratory, a cold room at 4o C, and two dedicated laboratories with biosafety level 2.We are offering a position as a Technician of the Biological Laboratories in the Experiments Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the services provided by the biological laboratories and support to ALBA staff and external users. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment that values diversity, inclusion, and respect.As a highly motivated and well-trained employee with good technical skills in biology, you will work at the biological laboratories (BioLab) located at the Experimental Hall near the life science beamlines. The main role of the BioLab is to provide state-of-the-art scientific equipment and services in various life sciences research areas to ALBA instruments and the growing academic and industrial community.You will thrive and perform an important function in this multidisciplinary, diverse, and international work environment.
