Job Description We are currently looking for a Senior Liability Underwriter for our Liability department.
This job includes underwriting large, complex, or specialist cases to achieve new business and retention targets.
You will spend the majority of your time driving underwriting decisions, actively contributing to business development activities, and liaising with customers and brokers.

Key Responsibilities: Reviewing allocated complex and/or large Liability cases and delivering underwriting decisions against company Plans and within agreed timeframes. Taking ownership and accountability of your Liability book of business of large and complex accounts. Contributing to the creation of segment and local business development plans. Ensuring an effective relationship with Underwriting and Commercial colleagues and other stakeholders. Accessing and applying available UW Tools, Rating Engines, Protocols, and technical insights. Clearly articulating our proposition and risk appetite. Maximising profitable business growth through reviewing existing Liability business and seeking out new business cases. Being aware of and adhering to our regulatory framework at all times. Providing guidance and coaching to less qualified/experienced colleagues. Ensuring the Underwriting Assistant Team & the OPS Team capture and record data in a timely and accurate fashion. Skills and Experience: You have a Bachelor and/or Master degree and solid experience in Liability Underwriting. You have an analytic mind and are comfortable taking ownership and accountability. You have an internal and external network of contacts within the Functional Liability community. You are a team player and are seen as a role model by peers and more junior staff. Your English and Spanish are fluent. Please note the role is based in Madrid, and you may be required to travel occasionally. Seniority level: Mid-Senior level
