We are one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines, with special relevance in the Spanish domestic market, as well as in France and Italy.  Job Purpose   Supervise the engineering departments responsible for aircraft structures and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards, in order to maintain airworthiness, operational efficiency, and support strategic initiatives. Main Accountabilities  Supervise the engineering departments for aircraft structures and systems. Provide technical support for structural damage and repairs. Control and manage structural damage within AMOS. Oversee the analysis and implementation of Airworthiness Directives (ADs) related to structures and systems. Manage non-mandatory modifications and preventive measures based on reliability alerts. Coordinate with branding and marketing departments for aircraft livery and interior changes. Oversee the landing gear change program and related budgeting. Develop and implement continuous improvement projects within the department. Provide guidance and support during regulatory audits and inspections. Manage the configuration control of fleet components. Oversee the use of advanced technologies for damage assessment and repair. Liaise with suppliers and external maintenance providers for repair and overhaul services. Foresee and monitor delivery and redelivery costs, reporting to senior company management. Manage departmental innovation processes. Oversee the execution of modifications and repairs  Organize and manage the team, promoting their development, teamwork and communication, between their collaborators and the rest of the Company. Perform any other responsibility or function that is assigned inherent to the job. Main Responsibilities - Tasks Ensure the effective coordination and performance of teams responsible for the structural integrity and system functionality of the fleet, facilitating seamless operations and adherence to safety standards. Ensure timely and accurate technical assistance to maintenance teams, guaranteeing safe, compliant repairs and minimizing aircraft downtime. Ensure all structural damage is accurately logged, monitored, and managed, leading to appropriate follow-up inspections or final repairs to maintain aircraft integrity. Ensure compliance with mandatory ADs by conducting necessary inspections and modifications, maintaining aircraft safety and regulatory compliance. Implement improvements and preventive measures to address frequent operational issues, enhance fleet reliability, and reduce maintenance costs. Ensure that all branding projects, such as new liveries or interior updates, are executed effectively, meeting technical requirements and company standards. Manage the planning, execution, and financial aspects of landing gear changes to ensure minimal disruption, cost efficiency, and adherence to operational schedules. Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, maintain high engineering standards, and support strategic goals. Ensure preparedness and active participation in audits to maintain compliance with aviation regulations and address any findings promptly. Ensure all aircraft components are accurately tracked and maintained according to regulatory and operational requirements, supporting fleet reliability and safety. Implement new technologies such as drones and scanners to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of damage assessments and repairs. Ensure effective communication and coordination with external partners to meet maintenance and repair needs, optimizing costs and quality. Provide necessary documentation and evidence to support claims, ensuring accurate and timely processing, and minimizing financial loss. Anticipate financial impacts of aircraft transitions, manage costs effectively, and provide detailed reports to inform decision making. Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the department to enhance operational efficiency and fleet performance, leveraging new technologies and methodologies. Ensure all modifications and repairs are performed in accordance with regulatory guidelines, maintaining fleet safety and compliance. Make the department managed a better place to work. Compliance Monitoring Manager CAMO (RCC CAMO): For developing regulations, procedures, and corrective actions from audits. Maintenance Planning Department: For scheduling and executing maintenance campaigns, modifications, and ensuring availability of necessary resources. Operational Control Centre (MOC): For addressing real-time technical queries and supporting operational needs. External Maintenance Providers: For coordinating structural and systems repairs, overhauls, and ensuring service quality. Branding and Marketing Departments: For implementing aircraft livery and interior changes, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance.  Insurance and Finance Departments: For managing budgetary concerns, processing insurance claims, and financial reporting. Regulatory Authorities (e.g., EASA, AESA): For compliance with aviation regulations, participation in audits, and implementing regulatory updates.  Suppliers and Lessors: For managing lease agreements, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery and compliance of components.  Internal Engineering Teams (Systems, Structures, Reliability): For collaborative problem-solving, implementing modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strategic Project Teams within IAG Group: For aligning and implementing strategic initiatives across the group. Education Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, essential for understanding the technical aspects of aircraft structures and systems. Experience   Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical services engineering tasks, necessary for familiarity with the technical and operational demands of the role.  Proven experience in managing technical projects, demonstrates the abilityto lead, coordinate, and optimize team performance.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, required for evaluating maintenanceprograms, addressing technical issues, and implementing improvements.  Experience with regulatory compliance, necessary for understanding and applyingrelevant aviation regulations and standards.  Ability to act as liaison during regulatory audits, demonstrates readiness to assumeresponsibilities in regulatory matters and effective communication with authorities. Project management experience, important for overseeing complex projects,coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring timely completion. Competencies   In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures and systems, crucial for overseeing themaintenance and modifications of the fleet.  Familiarity with AMOS or similar aviation management software, important formanaging maintenance operations and technical records efficiently.  Understanding of Airworthiness Directives and safety regulations, necessary forensuring compliance and implementing required modifications and safety measures.
