Elephant ZookeeperEssential Job FunctionsMaintaining high standards of animal care through preparation and distribution of appropriate diets, animal observation, record maintenance, and cleaning of animal areas and some public areas.Participating in guest engagement activities including talks and tours.Actively supporting and implementing department policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the highest standards of care of the collection and the safety of staff and visitors.Participating in collaborative efforts pertaining to the care of the collection including training, enrichment, research, and education.Maintaining a positive attitude while communicating and collaborating with team members.Minimum Training and ExperienceRequires at least 1 year of paid elephant experience at an AZA accredited institution. Degree in Biology/Zoology or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education/experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
