The Legal Department at Ebury is core to the functioning of the Ebury Group.
It provides front-line advice to all parts of the Ebury Group on legal, regulatory and governance matters which contribute to Ebury's growth every day.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven corporate lawyer who is keen to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing company which is focused on building Ebury's brand.
The successful candidate will provide high quality legal advice to key stakeholders in the United Kingdom and overseas and be pivotal to Ebury's development on a global scale.
The person who fills this role will have day-to-day responsibility for assisting with strategic corporate matters as well as turn their hand to commercial and other matters affecting the Ebury business.
The person who fills this role will report to the Legal Director.
Key responsibilities include: Structuring and executing strategic initiatives such as fundraising, MA activity and transfers of significant equity stakes in Ebury Group companies; advising on corporate structuring matters, working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and Legal Director to maintain and develop Ebury's corporate structure given its global footprint in an efficient manner, having regarding to regulatory, tax and other relevant matters; assisting with managing communications with investors, responding to shareholder queries and supporting General Counsel and Company Secretary to uphold best in class governance standards across the Ebury Group; reviewing commercial agreements and updating/developing our client terms and conditions and templates; working with the front office, corporate development, product and other departments to resolve day-to-day queries; representing Ebury in interaction with clients, counterparties, banking partners, industry bodies and other third parties; contributing to the design and implementation of new products and expansion into new markets; and preparing playbooks, procedures and self-service material and participating in the provision of relevant training and awareness programmes.
Key skills requirements include: Fluency in English (C1); A proactive mindset and an ability to communicate effectively in practical terms with stakeholders at all levels of the group; At least 2 - 3 years of professional corporate MA experience, either in private practice or in-house, practising as a qualified lawyer; A genuine enthusiasm for engaging with different areas of law, reflecting a commitment to developing as a well-rounded generalist lawyer; and An ability in a fast paced environment to prioritise and manage a wide range of competing priorities (with support from other team members and external advisers where necessary).
