WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ISGlobal is seeking a full-time Research Technician position for the project Development of a new intelligent and predictive tool for the early diagnosis and improved treatment of sepsis. This person will be in charge of taking over and managing activities of the project funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación. The overall project goal is to develop a precision medicine solution for the diagnosis of sepsis by combining faster pathogen identification and antimicrobial susceptibility results, together with an immune system classifier method to deliver a rapid and accurate management of the patient.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS Experience in microbiology laboratory
Experience in molecular genetic techniques
Experience in microbiology diagnostic techniques
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop the project from a technical point of view.
Ensure quality control (QC) of the methodologies carried out within the project.
SPECIFIC DUTIES Extraction of DNA
Blood sample collection and preservation process
SKILLS Teamwork.
Problem resolution.
Learning capacity.
The post holder will adhere to ISGlobal principles contained in People management policy, including Equity, diversity and health safety.
LANGUAGE LEVEL Advanced English Level
Spanish and Catalan user level will be appreciated.
CONDITIONS Duration: 2 months
Starting date: From 15/11/2024 to 14/01/2025
Contract: Full time
Salary Range: Technician II B

SELECTION PROCESS The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed, any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
